Chorley 4 Peaks Walk
Chorley Healey Scout Group. 16.5 miles or 8.5 miles.
A circular route over Farmland, Woodland and The West Pennine Moors. Incorporating the Peaks of Rivington Pike, Winter Hill, Great Hill and Healey Nab.Start - Chorley Healey Scout Group HQ - Wright Street, Chorley, PR6 0SP (next to Highfield School). Free parking available on school playground. Start times - 16.5 mile route - 8:30am 8.5 mile route - 9:30amRegistration - All walkers must register at the registration desk on arrival at the Scout Hut. Please arrive in good time to avoid congestion at registration and late start. Equipment - All walkers are expected to have adequate equipment including hiking boots or walking shoes, warm / waterproof clothing.Refreshments - Substantial refreshments will be available at 4 checkpoints on the 16.5 mile route and at 2 checkpoints on the 8.5 mile route. A home cooked hot meal will be served at the finish. Completion - Time to finish 6:00pm. Anyone not reaching checkpoint 4 (White Coppice) by 4:30pm will be asked to retire. Retirement for any other reason, please ring emergency number on tally card and pick up will be arranged. In dire emergency ring 999 AND emergency number on tally card, to advise event organisers. Entries - Entry fee fir 16.5 mile route £8, under 16's £6, 8.5 mile route £5, under 16's £4, under 10's free. Postal entries to Amanda Burgess, Tanhouse Farm, Charnock Richard, PR7 5JZ. Cheques made payable to Chorley Healey Scout Group. Email entries accepted, with payment on that day.
