Domestic abuse - our mission
Chorley and South Ribble Domestic Abuse Forum is here to tackle the issue including the safety of survivors, making sure abusers are accountable, challenging society's attitudes and carrying out awareness raising and preventative work.
Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Chorley & South Ribble Domestic Abuse Forum is to provide a mechanism by which discussions can take place to develop the local response to domestic abuse. In particular, to implement and evaluate the aims from the Chorley & South Ribble Domestic Abuse Strategy:
- To increase safe choices and quality of support for those, predominantly women and children, experiencing domestic abuse.
- To hold abusers, predominantly men, individually and collectively, accountable for their behaviour.
- To challenge those societal attitudes which promote or collude with domestic abuse.
- Provide children and young people with the motivation and skills needed to develop non-abusive and respectful relationships.
