Work Experience
Work experience is an ideal opportunity to put some of the theory you have learnt in your degree into practice and develop your skills at the same time.
Skills that employers are looking for include the ability to communicate well, research and analyse information, identify and solve problems, lead and motivate teams as well as interpersonal skills. All work experience counts. Bar work will give you the opportunity to develop these skills just as much as work experience related to your degree.
What opportunities are there at Chorley Council?
We take people on work experience for a number of different roles. These can include placements at Yarrow Valley Country Park, with the grounds maintenance team and office-based work.
How can I organise work experience at the Council?
The best way to arrange work experience is to identify what area of the council you would like to be involved with. You can see the type of work and services we provide throughout our website. Once you have a good idea of what you want to do contact usfor more information.
