History of get up and go
The programme kicked off in the summer holidays of 2003 aimed at getting youngsters active and providing something for them to do on the long summer days.
The programme then developed and offered activities in school holidays throughout the year, meaning there was plenty on offer.
Since 2005 get up and go has transformed into activity at all times of the day including evenings and weekends all year round making it one of the best attended and popular activity programmes for young people in the country.
There is such a diverse menu that ranges from archery, bird box making, drama, football, netball sports tournaments and young people volunteering schemes.
