Housing
We are committed to improving the quality and choice of housing available in the borough.
We don't own or manage any homes - this function was transferred to Chorley Community Housing in March 2007. This allowed extra funding to become available to improve current housing and to build new stock to meet better the aspirations and needs of residents.
We still have overall responsibility for housing in the borough and we can offer help and advice to people looking for help with housing.
The main areas that we cover are:
- Housing advice and homelessness
- Grants for home improvements and disability adaptions
- Achieving affordable warmth through insulation and efficient heating systems
- Affordable housing to buy or rent
- Renting from a private landlord or renting out a property
- Housing Strategy development and delivery

Housing related support
Vulnerable adults can receive support through the national 'Supporting People' programme with a variety of services for wide range of needs. These services are commissioned on behalf of Chorley Council by Lancashire County Council's Supporting People Team.
