Core Strategy (joint working with Preston and South Ribble Councils)
The Core Strategy will be the key document in the new Local Development Framework.
It will set out the agreed vision, objectives and spatial strategy for the development of the Borough and will include policies on key issues such as housing, transport, business and industry, and the environment. Chorley Council has decided to work alongside Preston City and South Ribble Councils in preparing the Core Strategy for the wider Central Lancashire City area. This follows successful joint working on a sub-regional strategy and the Central Lancashire City Vision.
Two Issues and Options Papers were consulted on in 2007. Consultation on the Preferred Core Strategy took place in 2008. To view the latest information go to www.centrallancashire.com.
