Chorley Cake Street Fair Returns

Playday12

The Chorley Cake Street Fair is back in town with lots of exciting fairground rides and attractions to entertain all ages.

Since its launch in 1995 the popular event, which is organised by Chorley Borough Council, has attracted thousands of people each year seeking fun and thrills on its many rides and attractions.

The fair takes place between Thursday, October 11 and Sunday, October 14, and has rides to suit all ages. Attractions for families and younger children will be situated on Market Street and Fazakerley Street and larger rides for older children and adults will be located on the Portland Street car park.

Mayor of Chorley Councillor Adrian Lowe will be joining the fun to officially open the fair on Thursday, October 11, on Market Street at 6pm.

The highlight of the event promises to be the annual firework display that takes place in Astley Park on Friday, October 12, at 7.30pm. Admission is free.

Councillor Peter Malpas, Chorley Council's Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: "Since it was introduced twelve years ago, the Chorley Cake Street fair has gone from strength to strength. It is fantastic family event and if you want to treat your family to a fun day out, then bring them along. There's a wide variety of fairground rides for people of all ages, plus the stalls will be returning so all the family can try their hand at winning some prizes."
