The Chorley Smile Campaign
People in Chorley are being invited to sign up for a borough-wide civic pride campaign to make residents feel good and encourage them to get involved in making a difference to their neighbourhood.
The Chorley Smile campaign is a partnership between the Council and residents to encourage everyone to feel proud of Chorley.

The Council will continue to provide excellent, value for money services and improve the borough and residents, community groups, schools and local businesses are being urged to play their part in helping to keep their community clean and to shout about what makes them proud of Chorley.
Some Chorley residents are already involved in maintaining and improving their community and we think they're doing a fantastic job. However, everyone needs to do their bit to make Chorley Smile.
How you can make Chorley Smile
Chorley Smile is all about taking pride in your neighbourhood and making a difference. There are loads of ways you can do this including simple things like not dropping litter or dumping waste, helping other residents in your area, respecting your neighbours and reporting any environmental crimes such as fly tipping and graffiti.
The different ways residents can get involved are outlined in the Chorley Smile Pledge, which residents are encouraged to sign up to and follow.
Chorley Council pledges to:
- Work with you to keep your neighbourhood clean
- Make Chorley a safer place and tackle environmental crimes such as graffiti and flytipping
- Improve and protect parks and open spaces
- Encourage people to recycle more waste
- Work with our partners to improve the health of our residents and reduce unemployment rates
- Improve and invest in the town centre and local communities
- Continue to listen to and respond to our residents
- Provide excellent, value for money services and make Chorley a nicer place to live
I pledge to:
- Help to keep the streets clean by not dropping litter, not dumping waste and cleaning up after my dog
- Take pride in my home and garden
- Arrange or get involved in community clean ups where I live
- Help other residents and community groups in my area
- Respect my neighbours and other residents by not behaving anti-socially
- Report graffiti, fly tipping and other problems to the Council on 01257 515151
- Recycle as much as I can and manage my rubbish and bins responsibly
- Make the effort to keep fit and healthy
- Shout about what makes me proud of Chorley
Sign up to the pledge using the pledge postcards which are available at the One Stop Shop on Union Street and at Chorley Town Hall in Chorley town centre.
