Excellent service
CHORLEY Council is celebrating this week after being recognised nationally for its excellence in customer services.
The Council has achieved Customer Service Excellence – the new benchmark in standards set down by the Government and which has replaced the former Charter Mark Award.
Councillor Peter Goldsworthy, Leader of Chorley Council, said: "We are delighted that our excellent customer services have been recognised once again.
"We work hard to ensure our customers are dealt with quickly, professionally and courteously and even though we have achieved the standard, we will continue to strive to improve customer satisfaction."
The Council faced a detailed two-part review of its practices to achieve the standard including a day-long assessment by independent assessors who shadowed the Council's advisers and spoke to customers, the Council's partners and even other departments.
They were looking at all aspects of the service from the customers' point of view and it gave the Council the opportunity to showcase examples of best practice and innovation.
