Where to access computers

There are many places in the Chorley borough where you can access computers if you do not have access at home.

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the below venues may not all be currently open, make sure you check with the venue before turning up.

Computers are available during library opening hours for up to 2 hours. A library card is required to access.

Council offices

Computers are available Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5pm. Assisted digital support is available to assist with claim for Universal Credit, housing benefit and other council services. 

Computers are available on an appointment basis only. Please call 01257 515151 to book an appointment.

Galloways society for the blind

We know that assistive technology can make life easier when you have a visual impairment but knowing where to start is not always easy. That is where Galloway's can help. Together with other partners Galloway's helping people with sight loss gain the basic skills and confidence to use technology such as smart phones and tablets to get online. AgeUK lifestyle centre

Gillibrand Street, Chorley PR7 2EJ 

Chorley Lifestyle Centre is run by AgeUK Lancashire in conjunction with the Brothers of Charity and is supported by us. It provides a safe and welcoming space for anyone over 50 to meet, socialise and have fun. Tablet courses and volunteer led 1 to 1 support takes place as well as a 'Click and Chat' group that meets every other Friday 9.30am to 11.30am. Hoghton village hall

A charity maintained village hall and recreation ground for public use in the village of Hoghton. A beginner's computer club organised by volunteers takes place once a fortnight, call 01254 853432 for more information.

 

Help the Homeless

45 Clifford Street, Chorley, PR7 1SE

A team of professionals and specialist volunteers provide support to families and individuals who have nowhere safe to live, or who are about to lose their home. A computer is available to look up benefits, and housing information, bid on properties, search for jobs or write a CV. Call 01257 273320 for more information.

 

Whittle-le-Woods community hall 

Union Street, Whittle-le-Woods PR6 7LN 

Whittle Seniors computer club meets each Friday 10am to 12pm for people who already have basic skills and would like to practice. £3 each week including tea/coffee and biscuits. Places are limited and booking is essential. Call 07801 659833 for more information.

 

Cotswold Supported Housing

Springfield leisure centre

Free Wi-Fi available. Tablet courses run from the leisure centre in stages throughout the year. Booking is essential. Call 01257 515151 or email getonline@chorley.gov.uk  to reserve your place on the next session.

 

Mawdesley village hall

Free Wi-Fi and computers are available on request from Mawdesley parish council.
