Have your say on electric vehicle charging provisions
16 September 2021
Views on the provision of charging points for electric vehicles are being sought as part of a public consultation.
Owners and drivers of electric vehicles, along with those considering an electric vehicle for the future, are being encouraged to complete Chorley Council's consultation.
Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council said: "We recognise the impact that transport has on climate change and air quality, so it's important that we gather information from residents and businesses about provisions for electric vehicles and how this may influence someone's decision to purchase an electric vehicle in the future. This information will also help demonstrate demand when applying for future funding."
Chorley Council declared a climate emergency in 2019, with air quality and sustainable transport being some of the key themes in the climate change programme.
Some of the Council's climate change initiatives include; investing in sustainable technology, such as electric vehicles in the Council's fleet, solar panels on the Town Hall, pledging to plant 116k trees in the borough by 2025 and are well on the way to meeting this target, creation of wildflower mini meadows and wildlife corridors, the appointment of a dedicated Climate Change Programme Officer to deliver action, as well as an clean air strategy consultation held earlier this year, which will help prioritise future actions.
The Electric Vehicle Charging Point Consultation can be completed before 22 October 2021
